A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State and an advertising doyen, Omooba Segun Adewale has congratulated Rotarian Abayomi Nureni Tella on his emergence as Chairman of the party in Ogun state in an election witnessed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Adewale, in a statement he personally signed from Ilaro on Sunday, September 29, 2024, noted that the choice of Tella as the party’s Chairman showed that PDP “is truly set to make a difference in the state and Nigeria by extension in line with its newly-adopted reform and purpose-driven direction.”

According to the statement, “The consensus election of Rotarian Abayomi Nureni Tella is a great feat for us in Ogun State, politically. He is an epitome of courage, dignity, and character. He does not stand out among his peers only by the nobility but also by his enormous gift of garb, wits, and inner stamina.

“With no shred of doubt, he has all it takes to take PDP to higher level, having proven himself as a consummate politician who comes on board with a lot of experience, native intelligence, and philosophical conviction. His emergence is equally a testament to his years of dedication and commitment to the party.

“I am proud to be associated with this new PDP chairman who is widely known as an organizer, bargainer, negotiator and statesman, beyond politics I see him as an asset not just to PDP but to the entire country.

“Definitely Ogun State, and of course Nigeria need more tested and trusted personality like this in governance to uplift our nation from underdevelopment and inequality into prosperity and equity.”

Omooba Adewale who was one time a governorship aspirant in the state added, “Given the groundswell of mass confidence reposed in him, Tella and his team of executives in the party are expected to reinvent PDP to focus on uniting the members and dwell on issues of internal democracy, party supremacy, discipline among members and how to bring back all the aggrieved members who had left before and make the party to remain a formidable force that can stand and win any elective positions in the state.”
