A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, youth mobilizer and businessman, Chief Salako Amekunlooye, has congratulated Senator Adedayo Adeyeye on his official swearing-in on Monday as Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority, (NPA).
Before his appointment, Senator Adeyeye, a former journalist, lawyer and politician, was the national chairman of SWAGA, a group of former federal legislators and party loyalists from the South-West that kick-started and worked for the emergence of Senator Bola Tinubu as President in 2023.
Amekunlooye in a statement credited to him specifically commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for committing to good governance by finding the former Minister of State for Works worthy of the new national assignment.
He also described Senator Adeyeye as a respected politician, strategist and a seasoned administrator who has had a distinguished career in the media and legal practice before venturing into public service, where he equally excelled in different positions he has previously served.
The APC chieftain further said he has no doubt that Senator Adeyeye would perform excellently in the new assignment, giving his pedigree as a seasoned administrator and experienced public servant, with a knack for excellent service delivery and integrity.
He added that Senator Adeyeye would be an asset in the Tinubu administration’s plan to reposition the Port Authorities.
He urged Senator Adeyeye to put to bear his decades of wealth of experience in the private and public sectors to make a remarkable difference in the new assignment.
“We thank the President, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Senator Adeyeye, who we all know as a thoroughbred professional, a thinker and an astute manager of human, financial and material resources, and who has also paid his dues in the private sector, law practice, pro democracy advocacy and in the public service at the state and national levels.
“A big congratulations to a distinguished leader, Senator Dayo Adeyeye for this noble call to serve in a new capacity. No doubt, he is a seasoned administrator and a man of immense capacity and values. I have no doubt in my mind that he would make an appreciable impact on this latest national assignment.
