President Bola Tinubu has approved the renewal of the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Yelwa as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission for a second and final term of four years.
The reappointment, announced on Wednesday, is in line with the provisions of Section 93 of the Electricity Act, 2023.
According to a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, the President urged Yelwa to consolidate on the gains made by the Commission and to inject greater innovation and dedication in the execution of its mandate.
The statement read, “President Bola Tinubu has approved the renewal of the appointment of Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of N-HYPPADEC for a second and final tenure of four years.
“This appointment is in accordance with the provisions of Section 93 of the Electricity Act, 2023.
“The President urges him to consolidate on the gains recorded by the Commission and bring greater innovation and dedication to the discharge of its mandate.”
