Ahead of the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday met behind closed doors with the Governors elected on the party’s platform.
Hope Uzodimma, the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and governor of Imo State, described the meeting as ” strategic, convenient discussion”.
Uzodimma who stated this while briefing State House journalists, said the meeting was aimed at strengthening the party and enhancing its capacity to deliver good governance to Nigerians.
He explained that as a sub-national government body the third tier after the national level the governors met to align with the President on party matters and governance priorities.
Speaking on the possibility of major landmark decisions expected during the APC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for tomorrow, the governor said, “We cannot say what will happen until we get there tomorrow.”
However, checks show that the party’s NEC meeting is expected to deliberate on key issues affecting the party and chart a path forward for its continued unity.
It will also present the midterm report and a review of the achievements of the President’s achievements in the part two years, amongst others.
