President Tinubu Lauds Oba Of Benin On 71st Birthday, 8th Anniversary

President Bola Tinubu has warmly congratulated the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, as he celebrates both his 71st birthday and the eighth anniversary of his ascension to the revered Benin throne on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

The monarch, who became the 40th Oba of Benin in 2016, has led a reign marked by unprecedented peace, unity, and progress within the kingdom.

In a special message issued by the Presidency On Saturday, President Tinubu lauded the Oba for his transformational leadership.

According to the President, his leadership has strengthened the Benin Kingdom and fostered a spirit of cooperation and understanding among its people.

Tinubu commended his diplomatic background, having previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to multiple countries, including Angola, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Italy.

He added that his rich experience has greatly influenced the Oba’s leadership style, providing stability and wisdom to his kingdom.

One of the major highlights of the Oba’s reign has been his tireless efforts in the international arena to reclaim priceless Benin artefacts looted during the colonial era.

Tinubu noted that these artefacts carry immense historical and cultural significance for the Benin Kingdom.
