President Bola Tinubu has appointed Muhammad Babangida, the son of the former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd), as the chairman of revamped Bank of Agriculture (BOA).
According to a statement on Friday by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu approved the appointment along with the leadership of eight other federal agencies.
Fifty-three (53) years old Muhammad Babangida is an alumnus of the European University in Montreux, Switzerland, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Business Communication.
He later attended Harvard Business School’s Executive Programme on Corporate Governance in 2002.
Also, President Tinubu appointed Lydia Kalat Musa from Kaduna State as Chairman of Oil and Gas Free Zone Authority (OGFZA);
Jamilu Wada Aliyu from Kano State as Chairman, National Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC); Hon. Yahuza Ado Inuwa, also from Kano State as the chairman of the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) as well as Sanusi Musa, SAN, (Kano State) as the Chairman of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).
Others include Professor Al-Mustapha Alhaji Aliyu from Sokoto State as Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA) and Sanusi Garba Rikiji from Zamfara State as the Director-General of the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN).
The rest include Mrs Tomi Somefun from Oyo State who was appointed as the Managing Director of the National Hydro-Electric Power Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) and Dr Abdulmumini Mohammed Aminu-Zaria from Kaduna State as Executive Director of the Nigerian Integrated Water Resources Management Commission (NIWRMC).
