The commissioner of police for the Federal Capital Territory, Olatunji Disu, has issued a stern warning against the illegal use of vehicles with tinted windows in Abuja, pledging a decisive crackdown on violators.
Speaking at a news conference in Abuja, Disu explained that the enforcement of laws on tinted glasses aims to curb the rising cases of “one chance” operators who pose as commercial cab drivers to abduct unsuspecting residents.
He noted that since the establishment of the command’s special tactical team, 296 vehicles have been impounded for various infractions, including the use of tinted windows, driving with only one license plate, and the use of concealed or defaced number plates.
