Pastor Bolaji Idowu of Harvesters International Christian Centre offered prayers and encouragement to celebrity chef Hilda Baci as she embarked on an attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos.
The event, tagged the “Gino Jollof Festival,” features a massive pot measuring six meters wide and six meters tall, with 250 bags of rice being prepared for tens of thousands of attendees.
Over 20,000 people registered for the free festival, which aims to celebrate Nigerian cuisine on an unprecedented scale.
Baci assured participants that the meal would be both “amazing and hygienic,” promising a record-breaking culinary experience.
This marks another milestone in her journey, following global recognition for her 100-hour cooking marathon in May 2023, which earned her a Guinness World Record.
With her attention to detail and commitment to excellence, Baci is set to make this historic cookout a success.
