The Chairperson and Convener of Asiwaju Renewed Hope (ARH’23), one of the prominent campaign groups that galvanised grassroots mobilisation in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the February 2023 Presidential election, Kemi Olokode-Ayelabola has commended the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola (CON), for shaping the status of the Nigerian maritime industry.
Kemi a behavioral, developmental and child/young persons care professional based in Republic of Ireland in a release on Thursday, August 28, 2025 described Oyetola as a respected and patriotic technocrat in the cabinet of the President.
She also commended President Bola Tinubu for carving out Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy from the Ministry of Transportation to exploit and maximize revenue generation for national economic growth and productivity.
According to her the newly created Marine and Blue Economy Ministry is one of the sectors with rich and economically viable potential which had remained unutilized in the last three decades in Nigeria. Kemi however commended the current administration for promoting the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 14) which is about Life Below Water in alignment with the United Nations SDGs, creating opportunities and breaking barriers to unlock an untapped resources and other sources of revenue for national economic growth to keep alive President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the greater good of Nigeria.
“The choice of Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola by President Bola Tinubu was no doubt made from immense character, excellence, diligence and hardwork. This is basically because the system needed someone with prerequisite experience, capacity and expertise to navigate the novelty of the new ministry, and turn its uncertainty to assurance, surety, productivity and gold mine.
“His achievements in two years as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy was evident in his proactive disposition, commitment and clear vision; the Minister literally knows the nature and demands of the new ministry in terms of innovation-driven management, coherent policy framework and implementation.
