Community leader and public affairs analyst, Dr. (Prince) Yinka Olatunbosun has appealed to the leadership of All Progressives Congress and other relevant stakeholders in politics to consider former parliamentarian who represented Ife Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Makinde as the running mate of the Governorship Candidate of APC in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) in the forthcoming 2026 off-circle elections.
In a statement he issued recently, Dr Olatunbosun, described the combination of Oyebamiji and Makinde as the best for the party and Osun at large, saying both men would bring to bear their professional and political sagacity on the next administration and reposition the state by all standards and to a mega city status.
The statement titled “A Call to the APC Leadership: Secure Ile-Ife, Secure Osun State” reads, “As the APC prepares for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, we’ve got a strong ticket with Bola Oyebanji leading the charge. Now, it’s time to think about who’ll complement him perfectly – Rotimi Makinde as his deputy.
“Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba culture, holds a significant chunk of votes. Makinde’s Ife roots and popularity can help tap into that potential. He’s got the people skills, advocacy game, and local knowledge to mobilize Ife and beyond.
“Pairing Makinde with Oyebanji brings together two powerhouses with a shared vision for Osun State’s progress. Oyebanji’s financial expertise and Makinde’s grassroots appeal make them a formidable team. They’re not just colleagues; they’re a winning formula.
