The executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA in Lagos State, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede has profoundly praised the vision of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu in sustainning development in Lagos.
According to Olojede, Lagos was same state Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (now President) governed for eight years, 1999-2007, during which he laid the foundation for its modernisation to suit mega city status of all standards which all the successive Governors have been building on.
It is recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday who was represented by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio commissioned a set of landmark infrastructure projects in Lagos State, praising Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to transformative governance and sustainable urban development.
The commissioning ceremony, held at the newly completed Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex in Alausa, witnessed a two-day presidential visit focused on unveiling critical projects across Nigeria’s commercial capital.
Among the projects commissioned were the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographical Information System (LAGIS) Building, other key transport infrastructure in the state and the multi-agency administrative complex which are strategic investments aimed at improving mobility, governance efficiency, and urban planning.
Mr. Governor also commissioned Tolu Schools Complex in the Ajegunle area of the state.
Commending Sanwoolu’s feat in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, Olojede said,
“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including completing the Ojota-Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographical Information System (LAGIS) Building, and the multi-agency administrative complex, etc. These strategic investments are indicative of improving mobility, governance efficiency, and urban planning which is in tandem with foundation laid by our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Your Excellency, all of us at Oriade LCDA are indeed proud of you in sustainning this trajectory by prioritising impactful projects for Lagosians. You have shown that governance must be about service delivery. These projects are investments in the have shown that governance must be about service delivery. “The commissioning of Tolu Schools Complex is another milestone that cannot be underestimated. This is a school that was painstakingly built on an estimated 11.73 hectares of land, comprising 36 public schools, 31 secondary, and five primary schools situated in the densely populated Ajegunle in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State. Honestly, delivering such a magnitude of a project in an environment that houses about 20,000 pupils testifies to the people-oriented nature of Lagos State governance” Olojede said.
Olojede’s statement further highlighted that Sanwo-Olu began his political career under Tinubu’s mentorship and noted that he served in various roles in Lagos State, including as Commissioner in multiple ministries and as Managing Director of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation and the records of his stewardship were phenomenal and meritorious.
The LCDA boss equally wished the Governor continued good health and many more years of service and legacy projects for the greater good of Lagos and Nigeria by extension.
The commissioning event drew top government officials, lawmakers, and stakeholders, including Governors of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma; Ogun, Dapo Abiodun; Borno, Babagana Zulum; and Bayelsa, Duoye Diri.
Others at the event include former Governor of Lagos, Akinwumi Ambode, former Nigerian Ambassador to Ghana, Musliu Obanikoro, among others.
