The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede, has commissioned the newly completed Ayinke Timpson Phase 2 Road in Satellite Town, marking a significant milestone in his administration’s efforts to deliver people-focused infrastructure.
The road, equipped with a modern drainage system, provides a strategic link between communities while addressing long-standing flooding challenges that have plagued residents for years.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony monitored by Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com), Olojede described the project as a fulfillment of his administration’s pledge to tackle inadequate infrastructure and persistent flooding.
“Today marks a significant milestone in our collective journey to build sustainable communities, improve connectivity, and enhance the quality of life for all Oriade residents,” he said.
“This project embodies our administration’s commitment to keeping our promises and addressing challenges that have burdened this community for decades.”
The Chairman highlighted that the road was constructed with reinforced interlocking stones and an upgraded drainage network to provide a lasting solution to flooding.
The Ayinke Timpson Road is one of several projects delivered under Olojede’s leadership as he marks one year in office. Other completed projects include Moshalashi Street, Gojere Road, Jimoh Street in Agboju, and the new Area Office Administrative Building in Satellite Town.“These projects are not just about building roads,” Olojede emphasized.
“They are about connecting lives, fostering unity, and stimulating economic growth. Improved access will reduce travel time, boost commerce, and attract new investment into our communities.”
He further noted that the achievement aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda, particularly under the Transportation and Traffic Management pillar, underscoring Oriade LCDA’s determination to deliver impactful projects despite global economic challenges.
Olojede urged residents to take responsibility for maintaining the infrastructure. “These are your assets, built with our collective resources. Community leaders and associations must ensure they are used responsibly to preserve their quality and longevity,” he said.
Chief Simon Eze, owner of Golden Tree Hotel and Suites and Seamark Electric Plc, commended the LCDA Chairman for staying on course with infrastructure renewal. He described the projects as transformative, connecting communities and driving economic growth. He described Olojede as “messiah destined to deliver Oriade”
Other stakeholders who were present also expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s commitment to rehabilitate and construct more roads in the next quarter of the year, but specifically appealed for the rehabilitation of Unipetrol Road, calling it as a critical gateway to arterial and feeder roads, estates, and major streets in the corridor.
