Following his landslide victory at the just-concluded Local Government elections in Lagos, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede, Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Oriade, party leaders, and other critical stakeholders in the community for their overwhelming support and commitment before, during and after the electoral process.
Hon. Olojede in company of his amazing family members, immediate past Chairperson, Hon. Ramotalai Akinola Hassan, Hon. Sani Sabitu, Hon. Apanishile Jamiu, Navy Captain (rtd) Bayo Adekoya (Chairman Finniger Estate) and Prince Ambrose Ahmed one of the party leaders from Ward G, expressed his profound gratitude to the people on Tuesday August 5, 2025 during a lunch and appreciation banquet that was officially organised by him.
Also in attendance among the high profile guests in honour of the host as captured by the media team of Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com) were the former Executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Tunde Sanusi, Special Adviser on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) to immediate past Chairperson in Oriade LCDA, Hon. Sarah Ikubese, Mr. Uche Sabastine Martins to mention a few.
The highlight of the day came with the Chairman’s captivating stage presence and impressive vocals, when he reechoed his commitment to serve the people and deliver on all the promises he made during the electioneering period in Oriade LCDA.
He said:
“Dear esteemed leaders of the diverse groups, associations, and organizations that make up the vibrant Oriade community under my watch.
“I consider this day as the day the Lord has made. And I gladly wish to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering and untiring support before, during and after the recently concluded Local Government election, which was held on July 12th, 2025.
“Your collective efforts have been instrumental in shaping the future of our community, and I am honored to acknowledge your contributions, which earned me this highly exalted seat as your “Servant -Leader”. I owe all of those to your sincerity of thoughts and actions and to God Almighty, who saw us through the rigors of the rough political seasons.
“The swearing-in ceremony celebration may not have been able to accommodate every individual who wished to participate and felicitate with me on the occasion of this victory.
“I want to assure you that this occasion is my personal gesture, to express my humble gratitude to you, thereby making it serve as a celebration of our shared commitment to the progress and prosperity of Oriade LCDA. Your presence today and support yesterday mean the world to us as a party, and I am grateful for your understanding and enthusiasm, which was not jaundiced at the polls.
“Once again, thank you for your tireless efforts and dedication tonoir community. Together, we can build a brighter future for Oriade and its people as we match towards 2027. I appeal for your continued allegiance and support. The best is yet to come and I can assure your that we are all in for novel experiences and encounters if we hold steadfastly to our shared trust and sincerity.
“Thank you for honouring my invitation. Thank you for your pledged allegiance and affinity. I promise to deliver maximally on all my campaign promises without fail.”
While returning appreciation back to the warmth gesture of the Chairman, one of the community leaders and a Comrade, Chief Austine Ikubese made a glowing remarks about the Chairman and commended him for his history of penchant for hardwork and delivery at record time.
He said, “I feel so elated and proud to see our Executive Council Chairman, Hon. Rasaq Akorede Olojede extending his gratitude to members of his constituency, party stalwarts and other key stakeholders in Oriade LCDA who in different capacities made his electoral victory to the coveted number 1 seat in Oriade LCDA a reality is welcome development. He was the immediate Council secretary and adminsitative head during the productive regime of the immediate past Chairperson, Hon. Ramotalai Akinola Hassan. Their synergy and commitment brought lots of development to our community socio-economically and we are proud of them. They both have clear cut vision in tandem with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu and developmental blueprint of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State. Hosting us to this auspicious and heroic gathering in appreciation to his political victory is highly commendable.
“With this crowd here cheering up our Chairman here today, one can be sure that happy days are here again and it is also a good sign to prove that more achievements will be attained in Oriade LCDA under his tenure. The testimonies from people here today is an indication that God truly love us in this community and I have no doubt that Mr. Chairman will soon be identified as the best performing grassroots Executive Chairman in Lagos State.
“He is a man of good pedigree, excellent background, and enviable family values. He is highly disciplined, visionary, God-fearing, a good listening ears, humble, brilliant, fearless and with positive and vibrant energy. He is like a son to me and I have strong relationship with his biological father. Just like the immediate past Chairperson too, Hon. Ramotalai, she’s also like a daughter to me and I wish her best of luck in her political ambition as she aspires to climb to the House of Representatives seat at the National Assembly, Abuja.
“We have no doubt that the victory of Mr. Chairman on the platform of our great party APC was largely due to his outstanding performance in his previous office. It is on record that Hon. Olojede has pursued projects that not only answer to the yearnings of the people but have also impacted on the socio-economic development of Oriade LCDA.
“I salute the resilience of the people of the Oriade for the trust and confidence reposed in APC and we have an assurance that the party will continue to deliver on its promises for the greater good of Nigeria”.
Other dignitaries who gave remarkable tributes about the Chairman included leaders of religious bodies, leaders of various associations and residential estates. Among them was Chief Simeon Eze, owner of Golden Tree Hotel, at Plot A, Ayinke Timson Drive, Satellite Town, he used the occasion to commend the Chairman for hitting the ground running in terms of performance right from the day of his swearing-in.
The business owner on behalf of others specifically hailed the Chairman for the rehabilitation of Ayinke Timson Drive which is already near completion. He equally appreciated him for his unwavering attention for igniting other socio-economic interventions within the nooks and crannies of Satellite Town. He as well assured him (Chairman) of his support throughout his tenure in office and pray for him to have a successful administration in the interest of both the elites and vulnerable members of the community.
