Since 2019, the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun has implemented an ambitious and inclusive infrastructure renewal agenda focused on transforming Ogun State into a modern, economically vibrant, and well-connected environment. Central to this vision is a comprehensive road development programme that has delivered hundreds of kilometres of reconstructed, rehabilitated, and newly built roads across Ogun Central, Ogun East, and Ogun West Senatorial Districts.
In Ogun Central, major roads in and around Abeokuta have been expanded and modernized, easing traffic congestion, improving access to public institutions, and enhancing the capital’s commercial appeal. Ogun East has witnessed large-scale road upgrades linking industrial, tourism, and agricultural zones, strengthening the state’s connectivity to Lagos and stimulating investment. In Ogun West, extensive reconstruction has ended years of neglect, boosting industrial activities, improving cross-border trade, and enhancing community mobility.
Beyond infrastructure, these roads have improved economic productivity, agricultural logistics, education and healthcare access, and property values, while fostering social inclusion. Each project is designed and supervised for sustainability, ensuring long-term serviceability and public trust.
While acknowledging that some roads still require attention, the government assures that ongoing plans will address them, reinforcing its commitment to equitable development. Governor Abiodun’s administration remains steadfast in making Ogun State the preferred destination for living, working, and investing through sustained, people-oriented infrastructure expansion.
