Signaling a new chapter in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), has announced a sweeping reorganisation of its top management team, appointing a fresh set of executive leaders to steer the company’s strategic direction.

The appointments were ratified through a written resolution by the company’s shareholders in line with the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020, effectively giving the decisions the force of a general meeting resolution.

At the helm of the new leadership is Bashir Bayo Ojulari, who assumes the role of Group Chief Executive Officer, taking over the reins of the nation’s premier oil company at a time when energy transition and global competitiveness dominate the industry discourse.

Rowland Ewubare was named Group Chief Operating Officer, while Adedapo Segun takes over as Group Chief Finance Officer, further strengthening the company’s financial backbone.

The restructuring also sees Olalekan Ogunleye emerge as Executive Vice President for Gas, Power and New Energy, signaling a major push toward renewable and sustainable energy solutions.

Also joining the executive leadership are Udobong Nita as Executive Vice President for Upstream, Mumuni Dagazau as Executive Vice President for Downstream, and Sophia Mbakwe as Executive Vice President for Business Services.

Adesuwa Dozie will serve as Company Secretary and Chief Legal Officer, bringing legal and corporate governance expertise to the new team.

The resolution authorises the Board of Directors to take all necessary actions to implement these changes, including making all statutory filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Endorsed by both the Ministry of Finance Incorporated and the Ministry of Petroleum Incorporated, this leadership overhaul is expected to reposition NNPC Ltd for efficiency, innovation, and growth, aligning with Nigeria’s evolving energy priorities.

Industry watchers say the appointments reflect a drive toward operational excellence and transparency, with an emphasis on aligning NNPC with global best practices in corporate governance and energy strategy.
