Makinde assures PDP members of better days amidst defections

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to lose hope over the recent wave of defections to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Makinde, who was speaking at the inauguration of the PDP National Convention Transportation Subcommittee in Abuja, described the current challenges facing the party as temporary, insisting that brighter days lay ahead for the main opposition party.

Governor Makinde, who also serves as Chairman of the Transportation Subcommittee, argued that though the party may be going through a difficult period, the experience will ultimately strengthen it and prepare the PDP for greater victories in future elections.

He urged members to remain steadfast, united, and focused on the broader goal of rebuilding the party for future elections.

He appealed to the party faithful to stay committed, expressing confidence that the situation will soon improve.

The Governor also urged members to have faith in the leadership that will emerge from the forthcoming PDP National Elective Convention, assuring the nation that capable and dedicated leaders will be chosen to take Nigeria to the promised land.
