Renowned and legendary filmmaker and highly revered Lagos Prince, Jide Kosoko has officially premiered his latest movie, “Esugbayi Eleko” at Genesis Cinema on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Known for his exceptional storytelling and cinematic brilliance, veteran actor brings another compelling narrative to the big screen that literally wowed his audiences.
Following its premiere, the movie is set for a nationwide cinema release on March 20, 2026. This psychological thriller promises to take audiences on an emotional rollercoaster through the vibrant streets of Lagos.
“Esugbayi Eleko” is a cinematic masterpiece that brings to life the story of Oba Esugbayi, the Eleko of Eko, and his fight for Lagos’ dignity and freedom during British colonial rule. The film, produced by Nollywood legend Prince Jide Kosoko, is a tribute to the rich history of Lagos and its people.
It captures the essence of colonial Lagos, from its bustling markets to its royal palaces, through meticulous research and historical accuracy. The cast, including Femi Branch, Yemi Solade, and others, brings depth and authenticity to their roles, enriching the film’s emotional resonance.
