Late Chief Samuel Chinda To Be Buried In Rumuewhara, Oro-Igwe Friday January 31, 2025

The family of late Chief Samuel Ejims Chinda from Rumuchinda family of Rumuewhara, Oro-Igwe in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State has officially announced the burial arrangements for their Patriarch, disclosing that he would be buried on Friday January 31, 2025, in his hometown.

Late Chief Chinda who was the Eze Ekwu Shiga Nkporma Rike 1 of Oro-Igwe King passed away in 2024 at the age of 68.

Meanwhile, a Vigil Mass had already held in his honour at St John Catholic church Rumuokwurusi, Rivers State on Monday, January 20, 2025 and similar service will also take place at the Church of Nativity Rumuewhara, Oro-Igwe, Rivers State by 6pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025 by 6pm.

According to a statement credited to Comrade Wenenda Ejims Chinda on behalf of the entire family and seen by Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com), he said “It is with deep respect and a sense of duty that we invite our dear friends, associates, and well-wishers to join us in giving our late Patriarch a befitting funeral.”

The message further noted that the remains of the deceased will leave the Military hospital Mortuary, Port Harcourt to his hometown in Rumuchinda in Rumuewhara, Oro-Igwe by 7am, whilst funeral mass will take place at the Church of the Nativity by 9am.

It was also stated that late Chief Samuel would be finally inttered by 11am at his residence on Friday, January 31, 2025.

Comrade Wenenda equally confirmed that there would be family thanksgiving mass at the Church of Nativity in Rumuewhara Oro-Igwe by 8am on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

The statement added, “The outpouring of love we have received has been nothing short of a deluge, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.

“Your unwavering display of affection has touched our souls in immeasurable ways, and mere words cannot adequately express our gratitude.

“Your love and kindness serve as powerful catalysts, strengthening our unshakeable faith in God Almighty and reaffirming our commitment to serving humanity.

“To those who have been calling, visiting and supporting us in prayers and in other ways, we extend our heartfelt appreciation. Your genuine concerns sincerely brought solace to our hearts, and your invaluable support lifted our spirits.

9am.“Our gratitude also extends to the church of God, political leaders, revered royal fathers, devout religious leaders, community pillars, heads of security agencies, dedicated unionists, civil servants, public officials, student leaders, and women groups, as well as politicians from across party lines, who have shown us love and sympathy during this period.”
