Nigerian actor Kunle Omisore has revealed that his passion for promoting Yoruba culture was the primary motivation behind his decision to pursue acting.
In a recent chat with The Nation, the talented actor expressed that his deep-rooted love for his heritage fueled his desire to share the richness of the Yoruba language, traditions, and stories with a wider audience through film.
“I came to the industry to promote my culture so I can propagate Yoruba to the whole world,” he said. “It is my happiness that Yoruba speaking movies are trending and doing well. The recent big screen movies by me show that our language has got strength.”
Speaking on his plans for cinema movies he said; “I always make films but we are not just on box office yet but my movies are always Yoruba related. We know our onions now but you need to film with the right people so you don’t cry at the end.”
Omisore also shared his dreams for the movie industry saying he hopes it goes global. “I want the movie industry to go global. We are there already, the white people are buying our tradition.”
Omisore has become a familiar face in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in the Yoruba-language film sector, where he has starred in numerous productions aimed at highlighting indigenous themes.
