The Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) has screened and confirmed Prince Kassim Afegbua, Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa, and six others as commissioners in the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration.
Others confirmed include Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, Barr. Nosa Adams, Felix Akhabue, Godwin Eshieshi, Ohimai Ehijimetor, and Eugenia Abdallah.
The confirmation followed Governor Okpebholo’s letter to the Assembly requesting the screening and confirmation of the nominees as commissioners.
The Chairman of the Assembly’s screening committee, Hon. Jonathan Aigbokhan, presented the report of the screened nominees at plenary on Wednesday for the legislators’ consideration.
In his report, the committee chairman described the nominees as experienced, competent, and professionally qualified to serve as commissioners.
Consequently, the House confirmed the nominees after a unanimous voice vote.
The Speaker of the House, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, admonished the commissioners to work in synergy to ensure that the governor succeeds and also accord the Assembly its due respect.
