A two time governorship aspirant in Edo State, High Chief Jacob Idinye has reverberated his prediction for the victory of Donald Trump, the presidential standard bearer of the Republican Party, in the 2024 November presidential election in United States of America.
Idinye who has been consistent in his prediction on Trump’s electoral victory in the last six months added that he was not surprised Trump will also be clinching electoral college victory.
The Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain made this disclosure on Wednesday, October 6, 2024 when he was accosted by journalists at the Eko hotel conference hall in the morning.
According to Idinye, “Without contradiction, I will conveniently say I am proud of myself, to have maintained my stand in the last six months that the Presidential candidate of Republican Party will make the greatest comeback in political history. Donald J. Trump completed the greatest political comeback in modern U.S. history in the early hours of Wednesday, claiming enough electoral votes to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris and return to the White House for a second term. This is a reflection of doggedness, strength, people’s will and interests and ultimately that is the beauty of democracy. This is also a wake up call for stakeholders in Nigeria to engage in meaningful electoral reform in our country so that our democracy can be more robust and as well yield fruits.
“I strongly stand by Trump, who is now the president-elect, seeing him declaring victory in a speech from Florida at 2:30 a.m. ET, saying he had masterminded the greatest political movement of all time and pledging to help America heal after vowing during the campaign to exact retribution on his political enemies have all paid off now. He is a political strategist of all time and I wish him well in this deserving victory that has dominated the media space globally, quite commendable.
“Another thing is that his campaign’s strategy mostly eschewed the mainstream press, focusing instead on appealing to young men and disaffected minority voters with high-profile appearances on popular podcasts, bolstered by influencers that have displaced the traditional media among those voters. As Tuesday evening turned to night, it became clear that high-risk strategy was paying off. Trump overperformed his 2020 results across the map, while Harris underperformed against Biden in key counties and among key voting blocs, Latinos and white men among them.
“The assassination attempts on Trump also attracted lots of sympathy for him, it technically changed the narratives to some extent. For me, as Jacob, I celebrated and still celebrating Trump’s life when he was shot at, because I strongly believe in sanctity of life. Through sheer force, Trump overcame a challenger who spent $1 billion to defeat him, with a ground game behind her that was thought be the best in politics.
“The president-elect will take office with the wind at his back. Republicans also retook the Senate, meaning his cabinet and judicial appointments will likely face minimal pushback, control of the House remained up in the air as of early Wednesday, and was likely to stay that way for days until all the California races were called.
“After a period of post-pandemic inflation, the economy is firing on all cylinders, with the Federal Reserve likely to cut interest rates again when it meets later this week. And the pending legal cases against him are now either dead on arrival or severely disrupted.
“Now, instead of ending his career on a losing note, as a twice-impeached, one-term president and convicted felon, Trump will have four more years to reshape the government, and a chance to further cement his legacy as the most consequential Republican president since Ronald Reagan. Congratulations to Americans and God bless America, and may God bless Nigeria too and give our leaders the wisdom and understanding to turn the fortunes of our country around positively, Idinye stated.”
