Abuja based human rights lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi has dared a social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan to proceed with his threat and release to the public an audio conversation between the two of them with which the intent sought to discredit a client he was representing.
Olajengbesi on his Facebook page on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, seen by Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com) said it was unfair and disrespectful to portray him as someone who attempted to reach out to VeryDarkMan in order to compromise his position regarding the supposed investigation into the dispute between Minister Mercy Chinwo and Mr. Ezekiel ThankGod (Eezee T), adding that it was both misleading and insulting.
While the human rights lawyer admitted it was VeryDarkMan’s right to express opinions on public matters, he however cautioned that the insinuation that he (Olajengbesi) sought to influence his stance was condescending.
The lawyer noted that such misrepresentation could also undermine his professional work and relationship with my client and could possibly lead to reputational damage.

@verydarkblackman, please release whatever you want to release. I honestly thought we enjoyed mutual respect as human beings. It is both unfair and disrespectful to attempt to use me as a tool to discredit a client I represent.
Your portrayal of me as someone who attempted to reach out to you in order to compromise your position regarding your supposed investigation into the dispute between Minister Mercy Chinwo and Mr. Ezekiel ThankGod (Eezee T) is both misleading and insulting.
I fully respect your right to express opinions on public matters, your insinuation that I sought to influence your stance is wrong. Such a misrepresentation could also undermine my professional work and relationship with my client.
For clarity, even before this matter became public, I reached out to you after being informed that there were efforts to contact you by some elements who were preparing to launch a media campaign against Minister Mercy. The network didn’t even allowed us speak. I don’t have the recording because I don’t record people’s call, but since you have it you can release same immediately.
I followed up with several calls efforts on same reason. She is my client and will rather prefer you get the proper facts and truth with a balance sides of the story, you later responded, and we eventually had a conversation in good faith. I simply offered that I am available to provide factual information to aid a fair and honest investigation of yours.
At no point did I attempt to compromise your stance—there was nothing to compromise in the first place.
Therefore, your public insinuation that you are keeping our conversation private “out of respect” for me stating, in your words, “make I know carry him own slap ground”—is a deliberate disrespect anyways, manipulative and demeaning. If you believe transparency is key, I encourage you to publicly share our full conversation, including voice calls recording as you claimed.
