The digital drive essentially brought into Edo State by the immediate past Governor, Godwin Obaseki was once again recognised as he recently won the Digital Governor of the Year Award.
Obaseki was recognized by the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria, (ATCON), in recognition of his administration’s technology reforms, which repositioned Edo as a frontier of digital innovation in Nigeria.
Commending Obaseki on this great feat in a statement on Thursday, a two time governorship aspirant in the state, High Chief Jacob Egietseme Idinye said Godwin Obaseki’s legacies in Edo State among other achievements brought digital evolution to the state, serving as a means of bridging unemployment gap while also noting that the former Governor deserved to be celebrated, having written his name in gold in the anal of Nigeria’s political history.
He said; “I am deeply elated to hear that His Excellency Godwin Obaseki has received yet another award after leaving office as the Governor of our state. Meanwhile, I strongly agree with the PDP of Edo State for maintaining that Godwin Obaseki will be remembered as a governor who made the hard choices at the most inauspicious time to better the lives of his people and engender economic prosperity, progress, and accelerated development in Edo State.
“For us in Edo State, we cherish this Award as an endorsement of HIS Excellency’s unwavering commitment to leveraging the transformative power of technology in driving socio-economic progress.
