The Delta State Special Economic Zone and Xenergi Limited have signed a collaboration agreement to develop a Gas Eco-Industrial Park in Kwale, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking on behalf of the state government, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu said this partnership underscored the state’s commitment “to driving economic development and creating opportunities for our people, aligning with the governor’s ‘MORE Agenda’.”
The Managing Director of the Delta Special Economic Zone, Mr Godwin Akpovie told South-South PUNCH that the strategic initiative aims to enhance infrastructure and facilities within the KGIP area, supporting efficient services and operations across the industrial park.
He said, “The partnership is focused on securing world-class infrastructure and facilities essential for the development of industrial facilities and attracting investors.
“The park will attract global partners and stakeholders. The KGIP stands as an emblem of progress and opportunity.”
On his part, the CEO of Xenergi, Mr. Emeka Ene emphasized that the partnership aligns with the Federal Government’s drive to accelerate gas-based industrialization.
The Kwale gas gathering Gas Eco-Industrial Park is expected to become a leading industrial hub, attracting top-tier investors and off-takers, and providing a fertile ground for future investments.
He said, “With its strategic location and cutting-edge infrastructure, the park will promote industrial efficiency, innovation, and economic growth in the region.”
Ene stated that the partnership has garnered support from key stakeholders who believe it will drive economic development, create jobs, and stimulate growth in the region, noting that as the project progresses, it is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy and establish Delta State as a hub for industrialization.
