The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu has celebrated veteran obstetrician and gynaecologist, Oluyomi Finnih, as he clocked 80.
In a statement available on his official Facebook page and seen by Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com), on Sunday, February 9, 2025, Sanwo-Olu described the member of the Governors Advisory Council (GAC), and former Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist of the Lagos State Ministry of Health, as a “father” and “leader”.
Below is the full text of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s tribute to the Lagos octogenarian:
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our esteemed father, leader, and member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Dr. Oluyomi Finnih, today being his 83rd birthday.
“Dr. Finnih exemplifies commitment and altruism in public and private service. His significant contributions to medicine have greatly advanced the health sector at the state and national levels.
“He dedicated many years to the Lagos State Ministry of Health and served as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital before transitioning to private practice as the Medical Director and Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Finnih Medical Centre in Ikeja.
“As you mark today, I pray that the Almighty God blesses you with good health and many more fruitful years. Amen.”
