Former Lagos State House of Assembly member from Alimosho Constituency 1, Adebisi Yusuff, has reiterated the commitment of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders to rebuild and reposition the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking to reporters after a recent visit to President Bola Tinubu, Yusuf shared insights from their discussions, which focused on revitalising the APC in Alimosho.
He emphasized the need for unity among party members to address past challenges and restore the party’s lost glory.
“APC in Alimosho has faced significant crises due to disunity,” Yusuf explained. “The party’s leadership in this area has been weakened, but President Tinubu is keen on regaining that leadership and repositioning it for greater relevance.”
Highlighting Alimosho’s importance, Yusuf described the constituency as the most populated and sophisticated in Nigeria. “Our population is an asset,” he said. “No politician of high repute, including President Tinubu, would overlook Alimosho’s potential.”
Yusuff said efforts are already underway to rebuild the party’s strength, both politically and economically. “We have started consultations and are working tirelessly to restore Alimosho’s prominence. Our primary focus is on 2027, and we are determined to make a significant impact.”
Speaking on President Tinubu’s leadership, Yusuff commended his dedication to revitalizing Nigeria, despite inheriting a struggling economy. He drew parallels to Tinubu’s tenure as Governor of Lagos State, where transformative initiatives like the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), and Lagbus Asset Management Limited (LAGBUS) were introduced.
“Tinubu laid an economic foundation in Lagos that continues to yield results. Today, Lagos’ economy surpasses that of many West African countries and ranks as the 5th largest in Africa. This is the legacy of his vision,” Yusuff noted.
Urging Nigerians to remain patient, Yusuff expressed confidence in Tinubu’s ability to replicate his success at the national level. “He has done it before, and he means well for Nigeria. Let’s give him time to deliver,” he concluded.
