Exhibitors Cite Lack Of Publicity As Reason For Low Patronage At Lagos Trade Fair

Some exhibitors at the ongoing Commercial and Industrial Trade Fair 2024 (CITF2024) at the Trade Fair complex along Lagos-Bagadry Expressway within the corridor of Trans-ECOWAS Highway have complained out of low patronage, saying that their sales were not as much as they had expected.

Executive Director/ CEO, Lagos International Trade Fair complex Management Board for resuscitating the Trade Fair/exhibitions, however noted that low sales have been the order of the day since the festival began on Friday Nov. 15 and will be coming to a close on Tuesday, November 26.

The theme of the fair, “Strengthening Nigeria’s commercial and Industrial Sector through Trade and Investment,” according to the organizers was significant in driving economic growth and industrial transformation, especially in an era where global economies were increasingly interconnected.

Veracity Desk (veracitydesk.com) took time to visit vendors at the Trade Fair on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Famous fashion designer, Crownlek Afrik, makers of ready-to-wear haute couture of all sizes, Adelaja Balogun and his team also keyed into the exhibition. He described the trade fair complex as largest in West Africa and a platform for fostering collaboration and creating opportunities across a wide range of sectors. He also used the occasion to advise the organizers to do enough publicity in the subsequent Trade Fair, stressing that the 2024 edition’s low patronage was largely caused by little publicity or lack of it.

Adi Foods and Beverages makers of Spicy and nutty grains pap of different variants was also captured at the platform.

Similarly on the exhibition stand was OSC Garments, makers of quality signature T-shirts, gowns etc, with contemporary designs.

Paul Ihiasonwu of Divine Mercy Electronics, a major distributor to LG Electronics, advised the organizers to look inwards and assess the 2024 Trade Fair and as well try to improve on areas where they noticed they didn’t do well and do better in the coming years. He however applauded the organisers for reviving the Lagos International Trade Fair, 14 years after. He added that if properly handled it will transform Nigeria’s economic trajectory, with a view to ushering in a new era of prosperity and sustainable development.

Jackson’s Winery (Fujian) Company Limited, a Sino-British joint venture based in Fuzhou, China also participated in the exhibition. They are mainly selling and producing brandy, whiskey, Vodka, rum, gin, agave, liquor, wine, soju, cocktail, fruit wine, beer etc.

Representative of Kenyos Parka and Bestmix Bovass, Ross Nian told VERACITY DESK (veracitydesk.com) that their companies are looking for new partners and distributors across Nigeria noting that they are happy to be part of the fair.

Other exhibitors are Bio-Pulse Limited, makers of finger millet flour which helps in controlling diabetes, reverts skin aging, relaxes the body, help in weight loss, battles anaemia and loaded with calcium. Also on the list of participants are Health Garde International and Greenland Natural Medicines Limited.

Leading renewable energy company, Sunflash Energy Enterprise was conspicuously sighted at the fair.

Among the realtors at the exhibition ground who are notable for empowering individuals to achieve their dreams of property ownership are PWAN Zenith, Bashmoh.
