Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Otunba (Hon) Gbenga Elegbeleye has commiserated with his long time friend, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole on the passing of his mother, madam Monsurat Bankole.
The Bankole’s matriarch transited peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the age of 78 in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
Condoling with Dimeji Bankole, Elegbeleye who was once a member of the House of Representatives in a press release he personally signed on Saturday said: “On behalf of my wife, and family, I commiserate with my brother and dearest friend, the former Presidential aspirant in All Progressives Congress in 2023 and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole and the entire Bankole’s family on this irreparable loss.
“The death of a parent, particularly a dear mother, is always a painful thing. I’m glad you and other children have accepted the transition as the will of God Almighty. We must all be consoled that Mama lived to an advanced age of 78, which is our wish for our parents.
“It is particularly noteworthy that Mama left behind illustrious and highly resourceful children, including you, the former number 4 citizen of Nigeria.
“I pray that God Almighty console and comfort you and indeed all those Mama left behind. May He also grant the soul of mama eternal rest.”
