You’re aspiring to serve Ekiti State as governor, tell us why Ekiti electorate should trust you with leadership.
I am motivated by a genuine desire to liberate Ekiti people from poverty and sectional leadership. I am energetic, pragmatic, disciplined, and people-focused. My party, the ACCORD Party, is number one on the ballot paper, and I am fully prepared to deliver the dividends of good governance. Ekiti deserves better. Together, we can restore hope, dignity, and sustainable development to our dear state. I am ready to serve.
You have a strong military background. How has that shaped your leadership style?
My experience in the Royal Air Force, where I led Battalion 2624 Squadron and participated in several international peacekeeping missions, instilled in me discipline, accountability, strategic thinking, and respect for human life. These values guide my approach to leadership and governance.
You are widely known for your philanthropic activities, what drives your community engagement?
I believe leadership is about service. Through the ODF Foundation, I have consistently supported widows, persons with disabilities, farmers, artisans, students, and civil servants. These include free UTME sponsorships, NIN enrolment for students, transport sector fuel support, free gas empowerment across the 16 local governments, and borehole projects—three of which are currently functional in Ado-Ekiti.
What stands you out from others seeking leadership positions?
Integrity. I have never been indicted for corruption, mismanagement of funds, or abuse of office. My record, both locally and internationally, is built on trust, transparency, and results. I also bring global exposure combined with grassroots understanding.
Tell us about your vision for Ekiti State.
My vision for Ekiti State is to build a strong, inclusive economy that creates jobs, supports small and medium-scale enterprises, and lifts our people out of poverty. I am committed to modernizing agriculture, improving education, strengthening security, providing quality healthcare, ensuring affordable housing, reliable electricity, clean water, and good road networks across the state.
Security remains a major concern. What is your approach?
Security is fundamental to development. I will strengthen community-based security, implement anti-open grazing laws, harness ungoverned spaces for productive agro-allied businesses, and deploy native intelligence to prevent crime. A secure Ekiti will attract investors and create jobs.
What policies will you prioritize if elected as governor?
Key priorities include the establishment of produce boards to boost agricultural exports, skills-based and indigenous curricula in secondary schools, solar-powered energy solutions, and a comprehensive road rehabilitation programme within two years.
What are your plans regarding youth and women empowerment?
Youths and women are the backbone of our society. My administration will focus on skills acquisition, access to funding, entrepreneurship support, and inclusive policies that give everyone a seat at the table.
You are part of a broader coalition. How does that fit into your plan?
Our vision aligns with the coalition’s mission to restore good governance and sanity to Ekiti State. I believe in collaboration and consensus-building to deliver a workable and sustainable development blueprint.
