Mudashiru Obasa, the ousted speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, stormed the assembly’s complex on Thursday.
Obasa, who was accompanied by security agents, immediately headed to the speaker’s office, according to a source at the chamber.
This is the first time the Agege lawmaker will be seen at the assembly’s complex since he was ousted by his colleagues in January.
Obasa’s return comes a few hours after the security details of his successor, Mojisola Meranda, were withdrawn.
Segun Ajiboye, the chief press secretary to Meranda, confirmed the developments, accusing Obasa and his team of allegedly breaking into the office.
The Assembly has been embroiled in leadership crisis since Obasa’s removal as speaker and subsequent election on Meranda.
Obasa was accused by over 90 per cent of the lawmakers of poor leadership style, perpetual lateness to legislative sections and plenary, high-handedness and disregard for colleague lawmakers and the executive, especially the governor, abuse of office and privileges, intimidation and oppression of members, misappropriation, among others.
