Senior management staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Wednesday conducted a tour of the newly resuscitated Port Harcourt Refinery alongside some selected journalists and other stakeholders.
On Tuesday last week, the NNPCL announced that the 60,000 barrels per day refinery which has been moribund for years has started refining crude following years of rehabilitation works.
Channels Television’s correspondent Olu Philips, was part of the team that toured the refinery and he observed a gas flare indicative of a crude processing operation
He reported that the plants are still blaring as crude processing is said to be in process. According to him, the rehabilitation team from TECNIMONT which has been working on the refinery for the past two years are still there to ensure its smooth running.
