The Pan African Union diplomatic mission has inducted wife of the former deputy Governor of Borno State, Hajia Hansatu Zannah as a member into the Governing Council of AU Agenda 2063 into the Governing Council and Ambassador plenipotentiary.
She was decorated on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in Abuja.
According to AU, Hansatu’s appointment was a testament to her commitment to leadership, service and the Pan-African vision 2063.
The Pankshin-born Ambassador used the occasion to commend AU for its developmental focused agenda across Africa over the years, while also urging it’s stakeholders to work more at ensuring that more resourceful and committed personalities are welcomed on board and that they are as well projected in business, politics and other areas of life, assuring that she will play her part in backing the AU’s visons and deepen its goals and objectives for the greater good of African societies.
The Pan-African AU Agenda 2063 is a strategic framework aimed at transforming Africa into a global powerhouse through inclusive and sustainable development. It further focuses on key areas such as economic growth, democratic governance, peace, security, and cultural identity. The agenda was initiated by African leaders to refocus the continent’s development efforts from political independence to social and economic development, aiming for a prosperous and peaceful Africa by 2063.
