Renowned businessman cum publisher of Ireland-based journal, The Street Journal, Bowale Oluwole Arisekola has offered some useful advice which, if followed, could improve the longevity of anyone, contrary to the data obtained from the World Health Organisation which indicated that life expectancy was 53.4 for men and 55.6 for women.

Almost everyone wants to live a long life, perhaps to spend more time with their loved ones, travel to more places across the world or achieve new life goals, etc. Notwithstanding, these pleasant goals could be seamlessly achieved according to Arisekola if only people could be cautious and circumspect.

The Ibadan born celebrity journalist and Chairman of the Association of Online Media Practitioners (AMPON), went deeper to pass his message by comparing the lion with the tortoise, while also highlighting the literary elements of aggression, dominance, peace and patience, their consequences and the role they all play in longevity.

In his social media post which he also made available to Veracity Desk, (veracitydesk.com) Mogaji said:

“My mother once told me that the lion is the king of the jungle. When he roars, all the animals in the jungle tremble in fear. He commands respect and exudes power, yet his reign is fleeting—he lives for a maximum of 16 years.

“On the other hand, the tortoise is one of the most peaceful creatures in the forest. He avoids trouble, moves at his own slow and steady pace, and lives for over 300 years. His patience and caution grant him longevity, while the lion’s aggressive and dominant nature leads to a shorter life.

“The lesson is clear: If you wish to live long or die young, these two examples offer food for thought. The choice is yours.
