Chief Salako Amekunlooye has commended members and the leadership of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA’23) led by the arrow head, Senator Dayo Adeyeye for embarking on a courtesy visit to Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Senator Ajibola Basiru, National Chairman and Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Abuja on Thursday (August 17, 2023).
The Oyo-based entrepreneur and philanthropist (Amekunlooye), in a terse message made available to the media said the visit was timely and also an indication that the group is in support of the party’s new leadership in its mode of administration and also in organizing.
It would be recalled that SWAGA’23 traveled across the six States of South West, visiting traditional rulers and other key stakeholders to plead for their support whilst urging them to call out Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (now President) to contest the presidential elections.
The response was not only encouraging, but it was also energizing as it provided the inspiration to even go beyond the South West to South-South and North Central Regions with visits to Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Benue States, and FCT where groups like the North Central Agenda for Asiwaju (NCAA), Akwa Ibom Stakeholders for Asiwaju Tinubu (AKISAT), Delta State for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (DESBAT) and CrossSwaga were formed and inaugurated for the Sensitisation and support drive towards 2023 which eventually yielded fruitful results.
Amekunlooye said;
“Our highly amiable, resourceful and affable National Chairman, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, National woman leader Rt. Hon Wuliat Ayo Omidiran, National Secretary Rt. Hon Bosun George Oladele, and other distinguish and valuable National leaders of SWAGA’23, I commend you very specially for this heroic and historic visit to the National leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC), posterity will be kind to you all.
“In all honesty it is a matter of great joy and honour for me to see members and the leadership of SWAGA ’23 interacting and fraternizing with the National Chairman and Secretary of APC Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and Senator Senator Ajibola Basiru under a serene and friendly environment.
“To all the members in attendance today, I want to say thank you, for coming together in unison as patriotic Ambassadors who have taken progressivism as a doctrine in thinking, deeds and with the objective to serve the country and uphold the interest of APC. I and many other well meaning Nigerians are proud of you, particularly your good sense of integrity, humility, dignity and maturity in the larger interest of our nation Nigeria,” Chief Amekunlooye stated.
