Dr. Tunji Olugbodi, the Executive Vice Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Verdant Zeal Group has announced the death of his father, Chief Joshua Oyedele Olugbodi.
Chief Olugbodi was born June 16, 1931 and breathed his last in the late hours of Saturday, December 6, 2025. The nonegenarian was 94 years old.
One of Baba’s children, Dr. Alex Kola Olugbodi in his glowing tribute said his late father taught his children to live meaningful and purposeful lives that positively impact others. He added that the patriach had nine children and made it his life’s mission to ensure the children were all well educated.
“He sacrificed so much for us—at a point, he even parked his car so that the cost of running it wouldn’t compete with paying our school fees. Life has a way of teaching us that we don’t value what we have deeply until it’s no more. Now that he’s gone—at a remarkable age of 94—I feel the void, and I miss him deeply.
“Daddy, thank you for showing me the meaning of sacrifice. Thank you for teaching me how to be a better father. Thank you for loving us with your whole heart. Rest well, Dad. Till we meet again.”🤍🕊️
