Ikeja Electric is not resting on its oars in deepening its corporate social responsibility drive even as it visited Morocco Comprehensive Junior High School, Igbobi, on Thursday January 30, 2025 in what it tagged Safetainability for Schools (S4S) initiative.
The organization took time to engage parents during the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting on critical topics to promote safety and sustainability, including, Electrical Safety, Staying safe around electricity, Dangers of Trading Under Powerlines, Importance of Earthing, Installation – Ensuring safety in homes, Dangers of Energy Theft – Why it’s harmful to everyone, and Sustainable Waste Management – Turning waste into wealth.
Through S4S, the electricity distribution company exposed public secondary schools to international health, safety, and sustainability best practices. The sessions held with the students included, Fire Safety – Teaching students how to use fire extinguishers, Basic First Aid & CPR – Equipping them with life-saving skills, Eco-Garden Project – Transforming old tyres into beautiful flower vases and planting flowers and vegetables with the students.
Veraciry Desk (veracitydesk.com) gathered that the company has demonstrated that it has strong penchant for empowering communities and also in fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.
Having displayed consistent evidence in walking the talk with meaningful actions, Ikeja Electric said, “Together, we can build a brighter, safer, and greener future. Let’s embrace safety and sustainability in our homes, schools, and communities.”
