As the electoral process in Edo State takes its second phase, security has been reportedly beefed up at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre ahead of collation of results for Saturday’s governorship poll.
Stern-looking and weapon-wielding security operatives including police, and the army were stationed around the collation centre with armoured tanks.
With voting, sorting and counting of votes having been concluded in most polling centres in the keenly contested election, collation of results from the 18 local governments of the state is expected to begin any moment from now.
