The leader of the Potter’s House megachurch in Dallas, Texas, Bishop T.D. Jakes is reported to be stable and under medical care according to the official statement by the church.
This comes after T.D Jakes experienced a health scare during Sunday’s service.
While delivering a sermon, Bishop Jakes struggled to breathe and prayed for strength before being surrounded by church officials.
The church described the incident as a “slight health incident” and assured that Bishop Jakes received immediate medical attention.
“During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message.
“Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals. The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers”, the Potter’s House said in a short message on its Facebook page.
The Potter’s House expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community and asked for continued prayers.
However, the church did not provide details on the cause of the incident or if Bishop Jakes was hospitalised.
Bishop Jakes, 67, founded the Potter’s House in 1996, and the nondenominational church has grown to over 30,000 members.
