Business magnate Wale Tinubu has revealed that he joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in performing the Umrah, the lesser Hajj, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

In a post shared on his X account on Saturday, the Oando Plc Group Chief Executive described the pilgrimage as a profound spiritual experience that fostered humility, gratitude, brotherhood, and a commitment to service.

Reflecting on the significance of the journey, Wale Tinubu stated: “In Makkah, the distinctions we carry fall away, leaving humility, gratitude, brotherhood, and a spirit of service.” He added that he was honoured to perform the Umrah alongside President Tinubu.

He also offered prayers for Allah’s acceptance of their worship and sought divine blessings of peace, progress, and prosperity for Nigeria.

President Tinubu arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday evening after departing Abuja for the pilgrimage. He performed the Umrah rites on Friday at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram.

Speaking to journalists after completing the religious exercise, the President described the pilgrimage as a deeply meaningful experience for both himself and the nation, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and a sense of spiritual fulfillment.

Reports indicate that the President’s delegation included several governors and senior government officials, among them the Governors of Borno, Adamawa, and Sokoto States, Babagana Zulum, Ahmadu Fintiri, and Ahmad Aliyu, respectively. Also accompanying the delegation was Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group.

During the visit, President Tinubu urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country, particularly for peaceful elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after concluding his spiritual engagements in Saudi Arabia.
