Following the declaration of the Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s son, to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it is time for the former Vice President to abandon his ambition.
Recall it was earlier published that Abba Atiku Abubakar has unveiled a mobilisation plan across the six geopolitical zones in support of Tinubu’s re-election.
He is the founder and chairman of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), a political mobilisation and support platform, and had earlier defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abba also said he would soon organise a two-million-man march across Nigeria in support of Tinubu’s re-election.
Reacting to the development, the NDC’s Director of New Media and Strategic Communications, Theo Abu Agada, described the move as damaging optics for Atiku.
In a post on X, he wrote: “Very bad optics. AA should give up his ambition at this point.”
