As political activities ahead of the 2027 general election continue to gather momentum, key stakeholders are intensifying consultations across the country to build consensus, strengthen national unity, and consolidate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
In Kaduna State, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Umar Nuhu Bamalli, received Senator Abdul’Aziz Yari, Director-General of President Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign, at the Emir’s palace in Zaria for high-level discussions focused on Nigeria’s political future, national cohesion, and the importance of fostering inclusive governance.
The meeting underscored the need to sustain harmony between the nation’s diverse regions while promoting political stability, equitable representation, and a shared commitment to national development.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding, and collaboration among stakeholders as Nigeria prepares for another democratic transition. Participants stressed that issues of national interest, political inclusion, and regional balance must remain central to the country’s development agenda.
As political alignments continue to evolve ahead of the elections, traditional institutions are playing a vital role in facilitating engagement between political leaders and key stakeholders on matters affecting national unity, peaceful coexistence, and democratic progress.
Senator Yari’s visit forms part of broader consultations being undertaken by allies of President Tinubu to engage traditional rulers, political leaders, and influential stakeholders across the country in support of the President’s second-term aspiration.
The delegation accompanying Senator Yari comprised several prominent political figures, including former Kano State Governor and former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema; former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Ahmad Sani Yerima; Hon. Ibrahim Masari; Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Prince Kassim Afegbua; and Hon. Lawal Abass, among others.
The consultations come as political parties and stakeholders begin strategic engagements ahead of the 2027 polls, with discussions increasingly centred on national unity, regional representation, party alignments, and coalition-building efforts.
With the election season gradually taking shape, themes such as inclusiveness, political stability, national cohesion, and balanced representation are expected to feature prominently in conversations surrounding President Tinubu’s re-election campaign and Nigeria’s democratic future.
