At least five persons have been feared dead following a tragic road accident involving a fully loaded 45,000-litre diesel tanker at Aduloju Bus Stop along the Ojoo–Iwo Road Expressway in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash involved the tanker, an unregistered private vehicle, and four commercial taxi cabs popularly known as Micras. The impact of the collision reportedly claimed the lives of five individuals at the scene.
The victims, identified as two men and three women, were said to have died as a result of the accident. Details surrounding the cause of the crash were still unclear as of the time of filing this report.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are expected to commence.
