A remarkable display of solidarity, compassion, and community spirit was witnessed in Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA) as political leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures, youth groups, market associations, and residents came together to support the Executive Chairman of Oriade LCDA, Hon. Rasak Akorede Olojede (RAO), during the 8-Day Fidau Prayer held in honor of his late father, Alhaji Chief Raimi Olojede.
In an emotional appreciation message released after the solemn gathering, Hon. Olojede expressed profound gratitude to the multitude of dignitaries and well-wishers who attended the prayer session, describing their overwhelming support as a powerful testament to the unity and strength of the Oriade community.
The event attracted an impressive array of prominent personalities, including the Executive Governor of Lagos State, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, council chairmen, traditional rulers, Muslim and Christian clerics, political associates, youth organizations, market men and women, as well as staff members of Oriade LCDA.
According to the chairman, the sacrifices made by attendees, many of whom set aside their demanding schedules to be present, demonstrated that Oriade remains “one big family” bound together by love, empathy, and shared values.
“Your presence, prayers, words of comfort, and unwavering support mean everything to us during this difficult period,” Hon. Olojede stated. “You stood by us, prayed with us, and reminded us that in moments of grief, we are never alone.”
He further prayed for divine blessings upon all who attended, asking Almighty Allah (SWT) to reward them abundantly, forgive the shortcomings of the late Alhaji Chief Raimi Olojede, and grant him eternal rest in Aljanat Firdaus.
The massive turnout and show of support have been widely described as a reflection of the deep respect enjoyed by the Olojede family and the strong bond that exists between the Oriade LCDA administration and its people.
As the community continues to mourn the loss of a respected elder, the gathering served not only as a moment of prayer and remembrance but also as a powerful symbol of unity, resilience, and collective compassion in Oriade LCDA.
