A Nigerian Army officer and his wife were reportedly assaulted and robbed of ₦300,000 after hoodlums intercepted their vehicle in the Itire area of Lagos State.
The incident was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, during a press briefing highlighting the command’s recent operational achievements.
According to police authorities, the event occurred on October 4, when the suspects blocked the victim’s vehicle, physically assaulted the officer and his wife, stole the funds, and vandalized the vehicle.
Law enforcement operatives have since arrested Muhammad Garuba Alabi, identified as a suspected gang leader, in connection with the incident.
