It was a double celebration of life and legacy as Adeola Falomo—fondly known as Mummy Courage—marked her 63rd birthday and 17 years of trailblazing entrepreneurship in Nigeria’s events industry.
Family, friends, associates, and clients gathered on Sunday, September 20, 2026, to honour the Creative Director and Founder of Courage Events, whose journey from the corporate boardroom to the creative stage has become a source of inspiration for many.
Falomo, an alumna of Methodist Girls High School, Yaba, and a Chartered Insurer with the Chartered Institute of Insurance (London), spent 22 years at LASACO Assurance Plc., rising to the position of Assistant General Manager before voluntarily resigning in 2009. Her transition into event styling was seamless, birthing Courage Enterprise in 1996, which evolved into Courage Designs and Events in 2010—now a leading force in Nigeria’s event styling and décor industry.
Her flair for excellence and innovation has earned her numerous accolades, including the Pacesetter Award, Outstanding Event and Décor Company of the Year, and the Best Rental Company of the Year Award. She has also been recognized for resilience, mentorship, and contributions to industry development.
Speaking in an interview with The Podium International Magazine, Falomo reflected on her entrepreneurial journey:
“I have never, for one day, regretted leaving paid employment. The Lord led me to start Courage as a side hustle, and the transition was smooth. My watchwords remain integrity and excellence—you are only as good as your last job.”
Her company, Courage Group, now spans Courage Events, Courage Rental, and Courage Furniture, with new offerings such as Tents by Courage—a full marquee service featuring LED dance floors, executive seating, and bespoke décor accessories.
Beyond business, Falomo is a mentor and encourager through her NGO, Courage-A-Hand, and a pastor ordained in 2012. She has played active roles in evangelism and crusades across Nigeria, while serving as Welfare Coordinator of CLAM Global Outreach.
Speakers at her birthday celebration described her as “enigmatic, kind, and supportive,” reinforcing her reputation as one of Nigeria’s frontline creative entrepreneurs.
