An anonymous concerned progressive has denounced a viral audio-visual clip circulating on social media, which allegedly portrays former Ife Federal Constituency lawmaker, Hon. Rotimi Makinde, as disloyal to his political leader, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the people of Ile-Ife.

In a strongly worded opinion, the writer described the clip as “satanic, infantile, irresponsible, and utter rubbish,” insisting that it was the handiwork of desperate politicians bent on tarnishing Makinde’s reputation.

The statement highlighted Makinde’s political journey, noting his resilience despite betrayals and personal tragedies, including the gruesome murder of his brother and four others in a politically motivated attack in Ile-Ife.

“To continue to hunt a man who has seen so much pain is not politics; it is wickedness,” the writer lamented.

The opinion piece further stressed Makinde’s unwavering loyalty to Oyetola and the APC, recalling his role in delivering Ife Federal Constituency during the 7th Assembly and his consistent defense of Oyetola in public discourse.

The anonymous author alleged that the clip was doctored using artificial intelligence, twisting Makinde’s past remarks and attaching old footage to create a false narrative of disloyalty.

“Some satanic actors are hell-bent on causing issues between Makinde and his numerous fans, between Makinde and Ile-Ife, and between Makinde and his political father, Oyetola,” the statement read.

According to the writer, the smear campaign is part of a broader plot to silence Makinde ahead of the 2027 presidential election and the 2030 Osun State political cycle.

Despite the attacks, the author affirmed that Makinde remains respected and loved across Ifeland and Osun State, urging APC members and residents of Ile-Ife to disregard the “fabricated disinformation.”

“No amount of mudslinging, innuendos and blackmail will deter Rotimi Makinde from standing firm in defense of Oyetola, APC, and the great people of Ile-Ife. Leave Rotimi Makinde alone. He has suffered enough. Let him breathe. Let him serve. Let him be,” the piece concluded.
