Chief Simon Eze, a respected community leader from Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, has reaffirmed strong grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah in 2027, pledging to deepen awareness of the governor’s achievements across communities.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Chief Eze, on behalf of Akpugo stakeholders drawn from trade unions, artisans, religious leaders, traditional rulers, students, and community groups, described the initiative as a departure from conventional support structures. He emphasized that the movement is rooted in organic mobilisation, data-driven engagement, and inclusivity.
“This is a deliberate, structured, and purposeful movement. We are bringing together both old and young voices from different strata of society, ensuring no one is sidelined. Our goal is to amplify Governor Mbah’s performance and strengthen grassroots support,” Eze said.
He highlighted ongoing projects in road infrastructure, improved security, Smart Green Schools, and Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres as evidence of the governor’s commitment to development, noting that these achievements have reinforced public confidence.
Chief Eze, who owns Golden Tree Hotel and Suites and Seamark Electric Plc in Lagos, stressed that the Akpugo movement is a complementary force working in synergy with party leadership. He urged stakeholders to prioritize voter sensitisation and structured mobilisation, describing the group as “a model support platform – inclusive, purposeful, and performance-driven.”
He dismissed opposition criticisms as hollow, insisting that Governor Mbah’s record speaks for itself across infrastructure, education, security, and economic growth. “Our mission is clear – to deliver a landslide victory for Governor Mbah in 2027,” he declared.
