Vice President Kashim Shettima will, on Wednesday, lead Nigeria’s delegation to Sweden on a two-day visit for high-level bilateral talks on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.
The visit aims to strengthen ties in key sectors such as ICT, innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.
New Telegraph gathered that during the two-day visit, Shettima will meet with Crown Princess, Victoria and the Swedish Prime Minister.
Shettima will drive technology and investment collaboration, particularly in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, through partnerships with Norrsken.
According to a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President, on Media and Communications, Shettima during the visit will tap into Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital impact investor’s $205 million tech investment fund.
Notably, 40% of Norrsken22, is expected to be allocated to Nigerian entrepreneurs, boosting Nigeria’s digital sector.
The Vice President will also showcase Nigeria’s economic reforms and policies, creating a business-friendly environment that positions the country as a prime destination for global investment.
He will engage with key private sector stakeholders and representatives from 12 Nigerian companies operating in Sweden.
By spearheading these bilateral talks, Shettima’s visit will open doors for increased cooperation and investment in vital sectors.
This is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s global partnerships and foster economic development. The visit will be concluded on Saturday and he will return to Nigeria.
