Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat said only a total mobilisation of all segments of Lagosians can give victory to the ruling party in next year’s polls.

He said the commitment to total victory should start with party members, who should take upon themselves the task of mobilising other stakeholders, including the women, youths, traditional institutions, ethnic nationalities, religious bloc, community development associations, artisans and peasants.

The party chairman, who called unity, reconciliation and sense of purpose, said Lagos APC would be targeting three million votes at the presidential and governorship elections.

Governance Advisory Council (GAC) leader Prince Oluyole Olusi and Chief Rabiu Oluwa said the mistake of the past should not be allowed to repeat itself, urging members to gird their loins.

While Olusi enjoined them to mobilise totally for the polls, Oluwa said: ”We should pay our 2023 debt in 2027.”

The party leaders spoke at the ‘Special Stakeholders Meeting’ held at the party’s office on Acme Road, Ogba, Ikeja, where the Director General of the Campaign, Senator Musilu Obanikoro, and Fuad Oki spoke on modalities for effective mobilisation.

At the meeting attended by candidates, members of the State Executive Council, reconciliation committee members, council chairmen and local party leaders were Hamzat’s running mate, Damilola James, former Finance Minister Wale Edun, Dr. Yomi Finnih, Chief Mutiu Are, Tunde Ogala (SAN), Chief Bode Oyedele, Alhaji Tunde Balogun, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Senator Idiat Adebule and Alhaji Akanni Seriki-Bamu.

The reconciliation committees led by Pa Alabi Macfoy, Chief Taiwo Adenekan and Mrs. Bumped Akinsola submitted their interim report to the meeting.

Hamzat called for a scientific approach to campaigns, saying, “We must campaign differently, attract women leaders, market leaders, artisans and peasants.”

He said instead of the entertainment at the state level during the campaigns, members should go and work in their wards.

The Deputy governor highlighted why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves a second term, saying that he has performed creditably.

Hamzat said: “In the history of Nigeria, we have a president that understands economics, a president that respects the rule of law. Nigeria is now using technology to capture terrorists. United States and other nations are saluting Nigeria.” NigerianHealth News

Ojelabi said, “We are targeting a minimum of three million votes for President Tinubu. He has done much for us. How do you repay him back? If there is loyalty, commitment and unity of purpose, we don’t have to sweat before we win elections in Lagos.”

Oluwa said:”We cannot afford to take the next election with levity. We should not be discouraged by the past. We should work hard. Let us reconcile and cooperate together. Anybody who had benefitted from this party should not drag it backward.”

Edun said, “We have work to do. We have to be committed. President Tinubu is doing his bit. We have to cooperate with ourselves. Lagos must be won by APC.”

Olusi said, “Reconciliation is the duty of all. We must appeal to all the aggrieved. Some of them have justification. They should be pacifier so that they can support the party. Reconciliation is a continuous process.

“Election is with us and we have to work hard. It is an important election. Government and win your polling booths to avoid being mocked in the media like they do to those who lost their polling booths.”
