The Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Honourable Rasaq Olojede has taken the lead in driving the June 2026 Sanitation Compliance initiative, reinforcing the vital message that community cleanliness is directly tied to public health and well-being.
His commitment underscores the belief that a cleaner Oriade is not just an aesthetic goal, but a foundation for a healthier, safer, and more sustainable environment for all residents.
Through this campaign, Hon. Olojede calls on citizens, local organizations, and stakeholders to actively participate in maintaining proper sanitation standards.
By fostering collective responsibility, the initiative aims to instill a culture of cleanliness that will improve living conditions, reduce health risks, and enhance the overall quality of life in Oriade.
Speaking on the Saturday Sanitation Exercise, Hon. Rasaq Olojede remarked:
“I actively joined our environmental health officers and enforcement teams on the ground to supervise the monthly sanitation exercise across our communities. From the early hours of 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., we moved systematically through various wards to monitor compliance, clear blocked drainage channels, remove accumulated refuse, and ensure that our streets and residential compounds remain clean, safe, and conducive for healthy living.”
He emphasized that the exercise was not merely about enforcement but about fostering a shared sense of responsibility among residents.
By participating directly, Hon. Olojede demonstrated leadership by example, reinforcing the importance of collective action in maintaining public hygiene and preventing environmental hazards.
